The epitome of lazy!–That’s me. Well not exactly, but I’m laying here in bed typing this. I threw my back out a few days ago (actually the way it feels I’d really like to literally throw it out) and haven’t been able to sit up at my desk for any period of time. Soooooooooo…
I broke down and bought a laptop, and here I am, in bed, flat on my back, but CONNECTED and playing around online once more. Is that lazy or what?

I recently had the opprotunity to design a WordPress blog for a company. It was one of my job assignments, I work for a freelancing company. It was a WordPress blog so I felt pretty confident in my abilities. Now, don’t get me wrong I was able to accomplish the feat but wow, it never ceases to amaze me how ONE platform (WordPress) can be so drastically different in different settings. For instance, this blog is pretty easy to get around, but there are somethings about it I don’t like, as compared to my farmblog (also a WordPress blog) and there is one thing about this one I like better than that one. Now you’d assume, maybe, lol, that they’d all be alike. The one I worked on for the last two days was even more different. They’re all ‘close’ to similar, and yet they all have little things about them that make it difficult to uniformly create blogs. Perhaps that’s the one thing I like best about Blogspot. It’s true you can’t ’self host’ a blogger blog, BUT of all the free ones it is the MOST easily and completely customized while being the MOST reliable as far as uniform formatting.

I have some little creey crawly things that now inhabit my office that are the cutest little things ever. A few months ago my house cat ‘Spooky’ (black black black cat) got outside on me. One day, that’s all, I couldn’t find her for a whole day… Got her back in and didn’t think much about it, even as she started to get a little heavier. I thought to myself how nice it was she was finally getting some heft to her. She was never thin as in sickly, but she was always a very lean cat.
Surprise… A couple weeks ago she had kittens in a file cabinet in my office. Of course, making her nest meant pulling everything from the bottom ’shelf’ floor of the cabinet over the lip and out onto the floor in front of the cabinet, but that was her choice of nesting boxes. I suppose that is better than the middle of my bed! LOL
So she had her kitties:
Two kittens to be exact.
Today for the first time they managed to make it out of the ‘nest’ to explore, and boy are they active. They’re still wobbly on their little legs (partly due to the fact that there so HUGE for two week old kitten, I’m sure. Having complete access to all of mom’s milk with only the two of them, made for some pretty tubby kitties.) I have spent the last few hours sitting here laughing at them.
I managed to take a few pictures. It is a little hard to see them because they are so dark. Actually I wish they’d stay the color they are now. It’s a steel gray with black points. I know they won’t. They’ll probably end up as black as mom. Here are the pics.

Oh and hey, check out the sidebar! I added my books that are all up on Amazon now, finally!

It has been a LONG long day. Twelve hours of work and I’m still not quite done. I did get my header back up on here though! Yay. LOL It’s not much but I like it. I was pleased to find out from Dave’s comment that the header’s disappearance wasn’t a slap on the wrist for being bad. Haha. Those cyber slaps can hurt, ya know.
On another up note, my son who has had difficulty finding a job locally got one today–online! Doing the same things I’m doing. How cool is that? So now he has something constructive to do again, and is making his own money again.
I haven’t had too much time to devote to my novels the past few days. I have to remember to set aside some time each day for that. Then again, freelancing being what it is, I will probably have plenty of time at some point in the future to get back to it. LOL

Okay, I’m slow… and I haven’t been on here for a couple weeks before yesterday again, but I just noticed the pretty header banner I put on here was wiped away and replaced with the ugly old everyday automatic one. What’s up with that? I guess we’re not allowed to modify the header even though it’s a part of the design on the admin functions.

See, I meant to do this today, and way earlier than this. I thought about blogging here this morning, then got started on some work projects and…
well you see where it got me. It’s 10 pm.
On an upnote I checked my sales on Kindle reader and there were a couple of copies of Hell’s Own sold. It’s not a lot, but I really wasn’t sure if doing all the work to re-format, and put in their design was worth the effort just to have an eBook listed on Amazon–fiction at that–but apparently it does sell some copies. Gotta say I like it for now. LOL

I am so sorry for not being around here much the last two weeks. What an exciting and yet exhausting time it’s been. First off, my newest novel Shakdown was released.
Shakedown is available at Prairieview Publishing, and on Amazon’s Kindle reader, it will be up on Amazon soon too! Yay.
So thanks to all that I’ve been really busy with that, and I also got two new clients for freelance work that have kept me hopping. Top that off with my three blogging companies I have been working for for a couple years picked up a bit last week… wow, you know, this writing game is very often feast or famine, and after a few months of famine the feast part really kicked in the last two weeks. LOL
I will say that the famine part earlier was a lot my own fault. Sometimes I get a little lax in searching and seeking work, and as a freelancer you really can’t afford to do that even when times are great.
So, I will try to do much better here, and stop by. I miss ya.

[kml_flashembed movie="http://www.youtube.com/v/aN5c0AU4oK4" width="425" height="350" wmode="transparent" /]It took several attempts to find a video converter to download that would work with 2007 powerpoint. (Lots of them said they would, but really didn’t). I FINALLY found one. I downloaded the free trial and it worked great. I will be buying this one for sure. I uploaded the new video on YouTube, and everything went great!

I’m having one of those days. I get a little nibble of something fun and it ends in total frustration. The link below DOES do a great job of putting up a powerpoint presentation, and making it shareable as a video… BUT… thanks to the wonderful Microsoft that has come up with a cool new program with lots of new additional toys to it’s predecessor…. it isn’t compatible with any of the services, and even though you can ’save as’ an older format those features, do not transfer over in that either. So I have a cool slide show with none of the animations showing which is what made it cool in the first place.

I have found a new true love—-POWERPOINT. I’ve never had power point before. The old Microsoft Office 2000 home edition I had didn’t come with it. It had excell, word, and that email program I never used, but that’s about it. The new Microsoft Office 2007 has (and I know, I know, NO ONE else likes it, but I LOVE IT) Word, Excell, Note Pad, AND… dum de da dum…… POWERPOINT.
I tried it for the first time yesterday, just a simple little slide show to play around with the different elements in the program. Wow, wow, wow… I know that anyone who has used the program before is probably thinking, what is her problem? We know already. But for anyone who hasn’t used it before… wow, wow, wow, wow. I love it. I have a brand new toy!
Hang tight for the video presentation of my ‘world premiere’ LMAO okay, it’s just a test trailer for my books, but it was fun to create. I just found AuthorStream that will convert powerpoint slideshows to video FREE… gotta love that! Check them OUT.
